The first step towards a successful professional future
Enabling young people to enter the world of work is not only a social responsibility for us, but also a matter close to our hearts. On the one hand, it is important to invest in our own young talent in times of skills shortages, but on the other hand, we also want to enable all school leavers to lay the perfect foundation for a successful professional career with a dual study program. Our dual students of today are the specialists and managers of tomorrow. To achieve this, we work hand in hand with the FOM University of Applied Sciences to ensure an ideal combination of theoretical content and practical activities in the company. In addition to the acquisition of all technical content, personal development is also very important to us. The transition from school to working life is often very challenging, which is why we always have an open ear for our students and help them to find and strengthen their professional personality.
The course is part of a dual system. Dual means that it takes place at two different learning locations: the company and the university. While the company focuses on practical work, the university teaches all the important theoretical content. We work closely with the FOM University of Applied Sciences to ensure that our students receive the best possible training in both areas. In the company, our students are closely involved in all daily processes in order to train important practical skills at a very early stage.
Our students attend the FOM University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund for two days a week, where they learn the content of the Bachelor’s degree course in Business Administration in various modules, such as Supply Chain Management or Project Management. Of course, scientific work is also an important part of the course, so that students also acquire comprehensive knowledge in qualitative and quantitative research. Interested parties can find out more about the university via the following external link:
It is important to us that our students are able to balance their private and professional lives in the best possible way. To this end, we offer different options for organizing working hours depending on the division.
All students have access to our kitchens with free coffee, water and fresh fruit.
We pay the full tuition fees for the standard period of study, so that our students can concentrate fully on their dual studies.
Our students complete the dual study program with a state and internationally recognized Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. This entitles them to study for a Master’s degree at any German university.
Students also make their contribution to the company’s success! It is therefore important to us to pay our students fairly and equitably.
Apart from lecture notes, we are happy to support our students with additional learning material.
After completing the course, the student starts their actual professional life. To this end, we sit down together halfway through the course and discuss possible career paths, taking into account the vacancies in the company and the student’s individual strengths and interests. The goal is long-term and successful employment in our company. Just as we place our full trust in our students by, among other things, contractually agreeing to pay their entire tuition fees, we expect our students to show a firm commitment to our company in return. It is important to us that both sides benefit from the dual study program and derive added value from it. Openly and transparently communicating expectations and wishes in advance is crucial for this, which is why we attach great importance to this in the job interviews.

Ceyda Firat
Apprentice
Diversity in the team is important to us! With us, your performance counts just as much as your personality, regardless of age, origin, gender, sexual identity, disability or religion.” – Many companies like to adorn themselves with quotes like this, but unfortunately this does not always correspond to reality – but at DSI it does. In my apprenticeship, I not only feel professionally challenged, but above all I am in good hands as a person. Despite my different background and religion, I am grateful for the appreciation and cooperation that makes this place a place where I feel completely at ease.
